With an affinity for the freethinking, the freaky, and the fringe, the Bedlam Theatre will be in rare form Friday as they welcome you to a party of epic proportions, so visually stunning and full of awesome, it’ll make your head spin. The night starts out with live music from G-Biz and Phantom Tails. While we won’t get into the political leanings of the former, both artists pretty much epitomize hardcore. The Brass Messengers will guide you on a tour through the parking lot where you’ll see the Infiammati Fire Circus (pictured) incorporating a bed of nails and glass, bullwhips and of course, fire.
The Brass Messengers then lead you back into the Bedlam for some tasty mashups by The Hood Internet, then live sets by girl rockers Pink Mink, and hardcore band Rifflord.
You can check in to the upper patio for a goat roast, accompanied by the crooning and plucking of Dreamland Faces, a band that incorporates accordians, saws, and other instruments into their haunting performances.
Meanwhile the Fireplace Room will be converted into a wolves’ den art installation, with DJ’s spinning and free T-shirts hand-screened by Overproof to commemorate your evening’s festivities.
All throughout the evening there will be sideshows, a digital makeshift photobooth, and of course, PBR tall boys to drink.
The cost for the evening is a suggested donation of $5 to $10, with proceeds going to benefit the Bedlam Theatre in its future endeavors. The Bedlam Theatre is located at 1501 S. 6th Street in Minneapolis, in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood on the West Bank. You can show up early for the 4 to 6pm happy hour. The party starts at 5.
