Having extra time off over the Thanksgiving holiday is a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family; but the question ultimately becomes ‘What do I do with all of my spare time?’
We suggest skating a few laps around an ice rink. Two area ice rinks will be officially opening for the season, beginning Thanksgiving weekend. The historic Depot Ice Rink in Minneapolis will be opening their beautiful indoor ice rink on November 24th, and will be open throughout Thanksgiving weekend. On November 26th, St. Paul’s outdoor Rice Park Ice Rink will open with a (free!) ribbon cutting ceremony in the afternoon from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
Prepare your legs for winter (after all, being able to effectively maneuver on ice is essential!), burn a few calories, and spend some quality time enjoying an activity with friends and family.

Skate rental is $2 per person. Receive free skate rental for you and your immediate family by showing your Wells Fargo check card or credit card.
Thanksgiving Holiday Hours:
From 4:30pm – 5:30pm on November 26th, come out and enjoy the ribbon cutting ceremony, which will mark the official opening of the Rice Park Ice Rink. Get in the holiday spirit as a gigantic, Rockefeller-esque tree is lit, adorned with 30,000 energy-efficient LED lights that will continue to shine 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the holidays.
