Minneapolis has recently become the most bike-friendly city in the country, edging out Portland, Oregon for top honors. With its many miles of bike paths, bike lanes, and an increasing number of bike shops, it’s no surprise that Bicycling magazine named Minneapolis top dog.

But Angry Catfish is the first bike shop of it’s kind in the city, as far as we’re aware. It’s a full-service bike shop. They sell bikes from brands such as BMC, Moots, Surly, and Pivot, as well as parts, clothing, and gear. They also perform wheel truing, tuning, overhauls, and a host of other maintenance options.

Big deal, right?

The twist is, this is a coffee shop.

“Wait…you just said it was a bike shop.”

“Yep.”

But it’s also a full-service urban coffee shop. They serve the usual fare, including espresso, macchiato, coffee, tea, French press, hot chocolate, with some organic options, and a changing selection of pastries and snacks.

Angry Catfish is new to the area. It opened in January, and has fast become a favorite place for cyclists to stop and caffeinate. It is located at 4208 28th Ave. South in Minneapolis. Call (612) 722-1538 with questions.
