They say April showers bring May flowers. So I wonder what all the April snow will bring? Hopefully, we’ll see some warmer weather, sunshine and flowers in bloom very soon.
Another thing May brings is celebrations. We have May Day on May 1st, Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), Mothers’ Day, and Memorial Day–all celebrated this month. And even though technically May 1st is over and done, Blaisdell Manor is hosting its May Day Soirée this Thursday, May 5th, starting at 5:30pm.
The party is a benefit supporting Whittier Alliance, an organization dedicated to ensuring safety and livability in the Whittier neighborhood.
Come and check out live music from local jazz vocalist Lucia Newell and the Parisota Hot Club with Robb Henry and Keith Boyles.
Come for the music and stay for the food, as eight Whittier area restaurants entice your palate with distinct styles of food. Wine, beer and margaritas will also be on tap. Also catch the silent auction with event & theater tickets, restaurant certificates, wine baskets, 2 roundtrip airline tickets and more available. There will also be a raffle for two brand new iPad 2’s valued at $499 each. One will be given away from raffle tickets sold to the public and one will be for May Day Soirée attendees only.
If you want to buy tickets to win prizes, they are available for $5 each or 5 for $20. You can buy them at the Whittier Alliance office at 10 East 25th Street Minneapolis, MN 55404.
Admission to May Day Soirée is $25 in advance or $35 at the door.
Head over to Blaisdell Manor this Thursday for an opportunity to socialize in a fabulous neighborhood setting, enjoy the company of friends and support your neighborhood.
