2026 U.S. Pond Hockey Championships at Lake Nokomis

January 23–25, 2026

If winter in Minnesota had an official sport, pond hockey would be it. One of the most iconic winter events in the Twin Cities returns in January when the 2026 U.S. Pond Hockey Championships take over Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis. For three days, frozen ice, crisp air, and nonstop action come together for a true Minnesota experience.

Whether you are a lifelong hockey fan or just looking for something fun and uniquely local to do in January, this event belongs on your winter calendar.

What Is the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships?

The U.S. Pond Hockey Championships celebrate hockey in its purest form. No boards. No whistles every few seconds. Just outdoor hockey played on natural ice, surrounded by fans, friends, food, and a lively winter atmosphere.

Teams travel from all over the country to compete, making this one of the largest and most well-known pond hockey tournaments in the United States. Even if you are not playing, it is a blast to watch.
