Looking for a cool way to celebrate Halloween without the haunted mansions and spooky movies? Something that you and the kids will both dig?
BareBones Productions does outdoor puppetry and performance art and will be putting on a special performance for Halloween next weekend. The first performance actually started earlier this evening, but will happen again Friday the 29th through Sunday the 31st at Hidden Falls Regional Park, just south of Ford Parkway and Mississippi River Blvd in St. Paul.
The show will feature puppetry, stilt walkers, aerial feats, pyrotechnics, and live orchestral music in a dazzling display of performance art and spectacle. This will be quite an extravaganza; you won’t want to miss it!
The theme for this year’s Halloween performance is inspired by Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes, and is based on concern about our use of technology and energy causing irreparable harm to humans and the environment. The twist is that the story ultimately offers a glimmer of hope for healing.
All show times are 7pm and tickets are not required for admission. A free will offering of $5 to $20 is suggested to support BareBones Productions and their future endeavors. This is a family-friendly event that is appropriate for all ages.
