Ever said something like “what a long night?” If you’re like most of us, you’ve uttered those words at some point. Never do those words have more meaning than the night of Winter Solstice, which is, quite literally, the longest night of the year. And the further you are from the equator, the longer the night (hello…Minnesota anyone?).
The fine folks at Brasa in St. Paul’s hip and prestigious historic Grand Avenue shopping district are making a celebration of the earth’s maximum axial tilt, thus starting their own tradition. The festivities begins tomorrow, Tuesday December 21st at 9pm.
Several limited release brews will be tapped, and Brasa’s kitchen has some awesome seasonal specialties in mind. Hot food an cold beer will be served and live music by The Midnight Mo Experience and Big Trouble will entertain you from 9pm to midnight.
Here’s how it works. You pay $15 for your tickets. For that, you get six tickets to spend how you’d like. Each ticket scores you one 5 oz beer sample or a small plate of food, so for your $15, you get three small plates and approximately a pint, except you can try 3 different beers. On tap will be Surly Darkness, Bell’s Christmas Ale, Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Ale, Great Lakes Christmas Ale, and Firkin of Summit Oatmeal Stout. Small plates will include Masa Cake with Roasted Squash and Mole, Chopped Brisket Slider with Pickles and Onion, Smoked Crispy Chicken Wings with Preserved Citrus and Chili Sauce, and Chocolate Torte Squares with Pecan Praline.
Get your tickets online. Hurry! The event is tomorrow night. Brasa is located at 777 Grand Avenue in St. Paul. Party starts at 9pm and parking is plentiful on nearby streets and in their private lot. Come on out and celebrate the longest night of the year!
