January 17th catch the Minnesota Rollergirls at the Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium in downtown Saint Paul.

First a little bit about the Minnesota Rollergirls if you don’t know anything about them and are wondering if this might be a good fit for you:

The Minnesota RollerGirls are founding members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the preeminent governing body for female, skater-owned, flat-track roller derby leagues. All participants are unpaid amateurs and the league provides insurance coverage for practices and bouts.

We have four home teams, the Atomic Bombshells, Dagger Dolls, Garda Belts, and Rockits, that do battle every season to win the coveted Golden Skate trophy (and bragging rights, natch).

Beyond our four amazing home teams, the Minnesota RollerGirls All-Stars have been competing against the best in the world, competing in the World Championships in 2006, 2010, 2011, and 2012!

See more about them HERE and how they are kid-friendly too!

So Saturday’s match-ups are the Dagger Dolls vs. Garda Belts and Atomic Bombshells vs. Rockits. These are the last bouts before the Home Team Semi-finals on February 7th, so the competition is bound to be fierce. Come watch the women of Minnesota roller derby duke it out to get the best standings going into their Semi-final competition!

A breakdown of the standings and what is at stake for each of the home teams you can find HERE.

So tell us Twin Cities, have you seen the Minnesota Rollergirls compete before or will this be your first bout?
