One of my fondest memories from childhood (and also for a lot of people) was seeing the classic The Wizard of Oz when they played it once a year on TV. How I would of loved as a young child to have been able to see this in the movie theater!

As an adult, I now have the chance with this special 2 day showing from Fathom Events. Two hours of Munchkins, Glenda the Good Witch of the North, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and of course Dorothy herself with her little dog Toto. Let’s not forget the Wicked Witch of the West, bigger than life to give a safe but scary villain to the movie.

To be able to share this classic movie with a new generation of film goers is also a treat. With so many films today and their huge CGI budgets, children have no idea how a movie was made when people didn’t have a computer to help them and they had to solely rely on makeup and real life effects to tell the story.
