Fashion has always been cyclical. There’s always a current stream of pop culture that brings back fashions of a former era. Right now, Mad Men, the hot AMC show, is largely responsible for the current wave of interest in the fashion and culture of the urban landscape of the early 1960’s.

Get set this week for an old fashioned fashion party. RetroRama will be held this Thursday May 12th at the Minnesota History Center at 7pm.

In addition to the retro fashion show, you can also catch cocktail demos with Iron Bartender Jasmine Poland, music by Southside Aces and a set by DJ Jake Rudh, bar games hosted by Drinking With Ian‘s Ian Rans, baking demos with Michelle Gayer of Salty Tart, boutiques by Blacklist Vintage, the Spectacle Shoppe, and Girl Creations, and a Book signing with In the Mood for Munsingwear author Susan Marks.

The fashion show includes pieces by a handful of Twin Cities designers, including Christopher Straub from the 6th season of “Project Runway,” Danielle Everine, whose work is sold at Cliché boutique in Minneapolis, Samantha Rei, Heather Luca, and Sarah White, who designs couture intimate apparel for her line, Jagresse Intimates.

Tickets can be purchased online and will set you back $12 if your a Minnesota Historical Society member, or $15 if you’re not.
