It’s been a couple of years since the economy started to tank. Things haven’t gotten much better in those two years, and people all over are still struggling to make ends meet. Defaults and foreclosures have become the norm, and our unemployment rate is still flirting with double digits.

Now through April 10th, catch Broke-ology, an honest, humorous, and poignant story presented live at Pillsbury House Theatre.

Broke-ology tells the story of a loving family struggling to make ends meet. Malcolm is the first in his family to attend college, but his brother Ennis has stayed behind, caring for their father. Returning home after graduation and with his brother urging him to stay, Malcolm struggles with the question any son dreads to ask: How do we achieve our dreams without hurting those that we love the most?

This portrait of a family caught between the future they envisioned and the present they have to deal with is told with uncommon affection and remarkable candor.

There will be post-show discussions with artists and community leaders at the performances on Thursday, March 17; Wednesday, March 23; Sunday, March 27; Thursday, March 31; and Thursday, April 7.

Tickets are available online and are regularly priced at $25. The genius of this play about struggling families is that they’ve adopted a pay-what-you-can model for tickets. Name your price.

Show times are 7:30pm each night. For more information, visit www.pillsburyhousetheatre.org.
