Holiday BFI Christmas Market

Lately, it’s been getting harder each year to get into the holiday spirit.

I keep looking for experiences that will make me feel like I did as a kid about Christmas. The experiences I look for usually have a traditional feel that remind me of home and family.

This year, the Black Forest Inn is hitting all my traditional Christmas buttons.

Handmade cookies, a Christmas market with gifts from local artisans and of course, the great German food I drive from the suburbs for. On top of everything else, if I don’t want to cook for my holiday party, I can get Black Forest Inn Meals To Go.

Rouladen, here I come!

Christmas Market – Check out the Black Forest Inn’s model Christmas market outside in the beer garden, and then come inside to the banquet space for a real Christmas market! Local artists, handmade crafts and products including fiber arts, jewelry, jams and jellies, soaps and lotions, cookies and bread, books, candles and more! You’re sure to find an affordable treasure for the perfect gift!

The Christmas market will be open from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, December 14 & 15
• Springerle demonstrations at 3:00 p.m. each day!
• Live music during the market!
• Of course, the Black Forest Inn will be selling stuff too – t-shirts, mugs, gift certificates, coffee beans, mustard, cookies, marzipan and anything else you can think of to give as a gift!

German Christmas Cookies – Find traditional German cookies for the holidays including Lebkuchen, Springerle, Pfeffernüsse and Stollen. You won’t find better handmade cookies anywhere! Each of the eight varieties of cookies is available by the dozen; mixed dozens are also available. Stollen is available in 1 lb loaves. (Click here for Holiday Treats brochure)

Check out the Springerle cookie making demonstrations! At 3:00 p.m. each day that the Christmas market is open, they will show you how to make these exquisite cookies! The demonstration is free and open to the public. Also, they are selling Springerle molds! Stop in to see the available designs.
