Fall in the Twin Cities means all kinds of great family-friendly fun in town and in the greater metro area. Everything from Halloween haunted houses, corn mazes, and fall festivals to hayrides and orchards.

If you’re in need of getting out of the city, even just a little distance, for some peace and quiet or some family fun, check out Apple Jack Orchards in Delano, just a short drive west of the metro. Pick your own apples or stop by the market for a pre-filled bag of your favorite variety.

The Apple Bakery Café is open from June to December, but the real fun happens weekends in the fall. Work your way through a meandering corn maze, let the kids roam the free play area and animal park, or hop on the jumping pillow. There are wagon rides for $2, a pumpkin patch (big with families around Halloween), apple and raspberry picking, a cow train for the kids, face painting, pony rides, and apple cannons and slingshots.

Grownups, you can enjoy the fresh pastries and delicious aromas of the Apple Pantry Cafe & Bakery, or browse at the Apple Market and Old Barn Gift Shop. Also enjoy scenic outdoor dining.

Of course there’s plenty to do on weekdays during the fall too, so don’t miss out!

There is no admission charge, but credit cards are accepted for purchases.
